Haenosh landed in Normandy in 1944 and was in PlzeĆ, Czechoslovakia when the war ended. Twenty-seven members of his family died in the Holocaust.
After the war Haenosh returned to Brno to finish his medical studies, then moved to Israel after the communist takeover of Czechoslovakia in 1948. He served in a field hospital in Massawa, Ethiopia as part of Israeli Army. In 1971 Haenosh and his family moved to Huntsville, Texas.
